Those looking for a quick recap of council's decisions now have a new tool at their disposal.
The agenda for tonight's council meeting includes a separate tally of each decision recorded at the previous meeting and how the mayor and each councillor voted.
Legislative services director Walter Babicz said the new voting summary isn't part of the official record - that's still the agenda and minutes that are adopted at the start of each meeting - but is a simplified overview of information already available.
"It's just intended to summarize and be a tool to enhance the communication for council's decisions," he said.
Other cities, such as Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto, also use a similar tool and Babicz said municipal staff thought it would be an improvement.
"We're always looking to improve our practices and we though this would be one way to do that," he said.
