A 38-year-old prolific offender, with 43 previous criminal code convictions, was caught exiting a broken window in possession of stolen property at a residence in the 2100 block of Pine Street Wednesday at about 1:30 p.m.
Police had asked for the public's assistance in reporting any suspicious persons in regards to a recent increase in daytime break and enters in the city and when police attended a report of a suspicious person at the door of the Pine Street residence they arrested the suspect immediately.
The male will appear in court Thursday morning. He is charged with unlawfully in a dwelling house, break and enter, and possession of stolen property.
