The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) is inviting Prince George locals to the Central Rail and Forestry Museum for a free family-friendly event.
It will take place Saturday, June 14 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and will be hosted by local CUPE members.
Attendants can expect free admission to the museum, train rides, hot dogs and s’mores.
“This is going to be a great event, at a great venue, and best of all, it is free for local families,” said Paula Bass, president of CUPE’s Northern Area District Council and of CUPE 3742, School District 57 support workers. “Our members are proud to serve the communities we live and work in, and this is just one more way we can give back.”
CUPE represents over more than 100,000 members in British Columbia and 750,000 members nationally and represents workers from local municipalities, public schools, libraries, and other community services in the Prince George region and across BC.
“With everything going on in the world, and with a tough fire season likely ahead, it is important that we build and support community,” said Bass. “CUPE members are all about working together to make things better for everyone, so hosting events like this is just part of what it means to support each other and our community.”
