There were some tense moments in Chase earlier this month after police received a report that a man threatened to shoot his former co-workers.
RCMP Sgt Barry Kennedy said on Oct. 9, police responded to the 4100-block, Squilax Angelmont Rd. after receiving a complaint a male was walking around the Scotch Creek area with a gun and was threatening to shoot ex-co-workers.
Seven officers attended the area in an effort to locate the male and who was found inside a residence.
“The male agreed to meet with police outside the residence. The male was subsequently taken into custody for further questioning and no firearm was located,” said Kennedy.
“The police subsequently learned that there was an original miscommunication, where the Complainant had misunderstood the information they received and there was no danger to the public in the first instance.”
The male was subsequently released with no charges.
