Local artist Rick Mintz has got his latest fundraising calendar ready for sale with proceeds going to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation that helps more than 3,000 children from the north each year. This year's calendar theme is backyard birds.

Actress Grace Dove, who was raised in Prince George and is best known for her 2015 role in The Revenant opposite Leonardo DeCaprio, is starring in Monkey Beach a film local residents can see at Cineplex Theatre starting Friday.

Celebrity chef Bob Blumer, who has made appearances at the local fair in the past, is offering an opportunity to cook along with him via Zoom as a fundraiser for the Prince George Hospice Society on Oct. 25.
