Brandt 'ready to rock' Prince George

The debate has raged for centuries, but it doesn't usually come up in a regular conversation.

Art Battle has set a new bar for itself. After two years gaining traction in the community and among local artists, it outgrew Groop Gallery and was amicably moved to the kind of venue used in other centres for this sport-painting phenomenon.

The hobbies and homecrafts people like to do at home in their basements and studios and garages are actually an industry and a spectator attraction all in one.

The artists' hearts will be pounding like the dance beats dropped by DJ Rubytrout. The spotlights will be as bright as these painters' talents.

Northern B.C. got some down-home back-east hospitality, courtesy of the Canadian Country Music Association. The annual CCMA showcase is second in Canada only to the Juno Awards for sheer music power, and this year it was held in Halifax.

Akon won't be the only million-seller on stage at the Civic Centre this Sunday night. One of Canada's biggest urban pop acts will also be there, standing alongside two other Canadian music success stories.

Buildings, like autumn weather, often need a fresh coat. And if "clothing makes the man" then the same can be said of what's worn on the exterior of a business, warehouse or home.

Everyone in Prince George has been invited to see the cutting edge of the arts.
