The UNBC men's basketball team lost to the University of Regina Cougars in Regina with a score of 78-67 Saturday night.
Tyrell Laing, who leads the conference in scoring, paced UNBC with 28 points, six assists, and five rebounds, while Chris Ross added 13 points and seven rebounds. Fareed Shittu had seven points to go along with 12 boards and three blocks.
Ben Hillis had the rare nine point, nine assist, eight rebound near-triple-double for Regina, while Matt Barnard had 22 points on five three-pointers completed. Sam Hillis added 14 points and nine rebounds, while Josiah Thomas scored 12 points in the victory.
Timberwolves host the Grant MacEwan Griffins next week to complete their Canada West schedule.
