Ice oval opening again Friday

It's cold enough to make ice. And that means skaters hoping to get in some late-winter laps on the Exhibition Park ice oval can do that by as early as today after warm weather the past two weeks turned the 400-metre oval into a lake.

Volunteers from the Prince George Ice Oval Society have been working diligently the past few days to bring the ice back to skateable condition and the oval is expected to be open all weekend for public skating.
Depending on availability of volunteer staff, the society's office should be open Saturday and Sunday to rent out speed skates between noon and 4 p.m.
