Emily Dickson made the cut.
The 22-year-old Burns Lake biathlete, competing in the first solo event of her career Friday at the International Biathlon Union world championships in Antholz-Anterselva Italy, when she placed 51st in the women's 7.5-kilometre sprint.
For finishing in the top-60 Dickson qualifies for the 10 km pursuit on Sunday. Dickson had one miss in each shooting round and finished 2:00.8 off the 21-minute 13.1-second winning pace of Marte Olsbu Roeisland of Norway.
Three of the four Canadians in the race qualified for the pursuit. Emma Lunder of Vernon finished 35th (+1:29.3, 1+0), while Nadia Moser of Whitehorse, Yukon was 43rd (+1:39.4, 2+0). Megan Bankes of Calgary just missed the cut, finishing 61st (+2:11.5, 0+2).
Susan Dunklee on Vermont, who turned 34 on Wednesday, is one of the veterans of the World Cup tour and she won silver in the sprint. Dunklee shot clean and was just 6.8 second behind Roeisland. Lucie Charvatova of Czech Republic was the bronze medalist (+21.3, 1+0).
Four Canadians are entered in the men's 10 km sprint on Saturday. Scott Gow of Canmore will start 17th, Christian Gow of Canmore will be 60th out of the gate, Jules Brunotte of Saint-Marie, Que., is 87th in the start order and Adam Runnalls of Calgary in 105th out of a field of 107.
