Prince George biathlete Sarah Beaudry teamed up with Carson Campbell of Bedeque, P.E.I., to finish 19th out of 27 teams in Thursday's single mixed relay the IBU Open European Championships in Minsk-Raufichi, Belarus.

The Canadians had a tough day on the range and were lapped by the leaders after Campbell was forced to ski three penalty loops. Each competitor shot two prone bouts and two standing bouts. Beaudry cleaned her first round and needed two reloads in her second bout to get back on the course. She also hit all five targets in her first standing bout and reloaded three times to complete the second bout. Campbell shot 0+2 and 3+3.

Norway (Karoline Erdal and Endre Stroemshem) won the relay in 47:12.2. Germany (+11.5) took silver just ahead of the bronze medalists from Ukraine (+11.8).

Beaudry will be the last racer out of the start gate Saturday morning in the women's 7.5-kilometre sprint. She will start 107th, behind Darya Sepandj of Calgary, who will start 77th.

Campbell will be the 11th skier to leave the stadium in Saturday's men's 10 km sprint, followed by Trevor Kiers of Welland, Ont, (66th), Matthew Strum of Canmore (90th) and Alexandre Dupuis of Ottawa (110th).

The top 60 sprinters in each race will qualify for Sunday's pursuits.
