As a local tax payer, I would appreciate it if the city would please go back to disseminating information using the local paper on the basis of efficiency, audience reach (fosters transparency), and respect for elders. As Mayor Yu repeated, other media can be used as well. For me, emails, Twitter (often humorous which is good), FB, and the city website are scattered and inconsistent. These platforms deliver city news continuously, and as modern as they are, I often have to take time hunt for information. I would prefer to be consistently informed about local government by reading the paper. Last night’s debate was not counsel’s finest moment.
