I have seen governments come and go over the course of a lifetime and honestly noticed little difference between Conservative or Liberal governments for the average citizen. Regardless ideological difference all goverments operate in a world with countless influences from outside that they have, literally, no control over.
Every Prime Minister has had their moments to shine and also the times they could have done so much better but that said not one of them ever embarrassed us to the degree we see to the south of us from their current President.
Lets try being the polite folk we are known as and allow the candidates to put out their platforms and agendas and next Monday the citizens will speak and we, as friends, neighbours, fellow Canadians can get on with life and deal with whatever comes from whomever and whatever direction as a sovereign nation with no desire to be assimilated by the Orange Toddler and its playmates, many unfit for their positions. Be the change you want to see!

Catch and Release is a Court system issue NOT local police. If it frustrates you imagine being the officers who risk life and limb getting this poison off our streets and seeing the drug dealing cretins back on the street before they finish the paperwork.

I am unimpressed with a party started by someone who fails a leadership bid in another party and stalks off to start a party thereby ensuring their leadership fantasies come true, although with no one to lead I suspect it may not be all that satisfying.

With all the tech available perhaps FD should only be sent on medical calls IF they will arrive substantially sooner. GPS should let dispatch know where available Ambulance units are. Since ambulance is a provincial responsibility and there seems to be problems getting paid for the Fire Dept doing medical responses it seems wise to reduce how often that happens.

I understand the overall concept of marketing boards, supply management but it does seem that these often end up ruining the very producers they were theoretically designed to help.
Its always been done this way is the least intelligent and most indefensible reason for refusal to reexamine practices and/or regulation. Money talks and all too regularly the little guys, often touted as the backbone of our economy, get ignored and literally run out of business as the system caters to the larger producers with the ability to contribute more generously to political parties and candidates. Closed highways due to weather or natural disasters very quickly show up as a shortage of products that have no nearby source. Buying Canadian is not enough, we need to buy local whenever possible and we need government to be supportive of development in local sources for any products that can reasonably be sourced in the area.

Shoppping/buying habits change over time, the pandemic increased online shopping significantly and is simply easier and faster for many products. The Bay was quite simply not competitive in many areas. To charge 10's to 100's more for the exact same items means people with limited resources are not going to purchase from you. Many people with greater resources still compare prices and will shop at Canadian Tire or other places when there is a big price difference. If a business chooses to cater to a wealthier clientele to whom price is not very significant then they must be sure there is a sufficient number of such people within their trading area or survival is unlikely. Something we heard that a number of people found to be an issue was not opening until 11:00AM, more than a few times hearing people say that by that time they were wanting to be on the way home to prepare lunch, with their shopping done for the day. Multiple issues no doubt leading to this sad point.

Having observed the cavalier attitude of councils over the years in regards to the OCP I question the exertion of any time or energy in this regard as Administration will approve changes OR oppose the change and Council ignores or goes along with little respect for said plan.
The atitude seems to be that the OCP may have been a long time being planned with lots of input from many sources but the shiny new thing is just irresistible so its ok to ignore all that and make changes.
Foothills feeds from Chief Lake Road, drawing traffic from all that road accesses and Hart Highlands, North Nechako Rd, Otway, residences west of Tabor Blvd and feeds all this to, Oh, NOWHERE because the road was never completed so traffic ends up on Ospika to get south beyond 18th.
This is a stunning example of Nimbyism at play nullifying planning and milions of dollars of road construction designed for anticipated traffic flow. (Right, we did not grow as fast as expected but we are growing.)

And where do you suppose homeless people would find the money to pay a lawyer? Without proper representation they are likely to either actually be abused or at minimum feel they have been.
