With the UNBC Timberwolves and Thompson Rivers University WolfPack both needing 6 points this weekend for the possibility of advancing to the Canada West playoffs, the stage was set for an intense match-up on the pitch at Masich Place Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The two teams were evenly matched the first half of action heading into the dressing room at the half with a nil-nil draw. The Timberwolves nearly got on the board in the early minutes of the second half putting one off the post but that was as close as they would get to scoring. The WolfPack scored four unanswered goals in the second half to dash UNBC's hopes of reaching the postseason. Justin Donaldson potted two goals for TRU with Jan Pirretas and Dylan Hooper rounding out the scoring for the WolfPack on their way to a 4-0 win. The same two teams play tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Masich Place Stadium in the final home game of the season.
