Friday night at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena saw the Prince George Spruce Kings take on the Coquitlam Express in their annual Drop the Gloves and Sock It To 'Em game with the Kings wearing special themed jerseys that will be auctioned off. Unfortunately the Kings didn't get the result they wanted with the Coquitlam Express taking the game by a score of 4-2. Mason Waite scored the Kings first goal of the game which sent toques, gloves, socks, mittens, and other warm winter items onto the ice which will then be donated to St. Vincent de Paul Society. Nolan Welsh also scored for Prince George. Steve Bellini, Will Margel, Drew Cooper, and Greg Lapointe were the goal scorers for Coquitlam. Spruce Kings' Jett Alexander turned aside 29 of the 33 shots he faced in the loss while Express goaltender Clay Stevenson made 20 saves on 22 shots. Attendance for the game was 1276. The same two teams meet again on Saturday night with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.
