Experience topped youth in an exhibition volleyball match on Friday afternoon at Kelly Road secondary school. The 1986 Kelly Road Roadrunners, who won the provincial high school championship that year, took on the 2016 Kelly Road club as part of a 30-year anniversary celebration of their B.C. title. With the championship banner hanging on the front wall of the gym – and the smell of A535 hanging in the air – the vintage Roadrunners prevailed 23-25, 25-14, 16-14. The match was the opener of the annual Kelly Road senior boys volleyball tournament, which will wrap up on Saturday. The final will start at 5 p.m.
