It was an emotional day on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. as the Northern closed its doors for the final time in its 100-year history. Twelve staff were on hand to assist customers as they made their final purchases and surrounded long time employee Peter Mueller as he used his key to lock the front doors for the last time once the all the customers had left the store. The final customer of the day was Dave Leman who purchased a box of safety mask filters, two brown lumber crayons, and a couple of small household extension cords.
