For the first time in three years Maureen Washington hit the stage in her home town of Prince George as she performed on Saturday at Prince George Playhouse in front of more than 200 adoring fans that included her mother and other family members. There was something for everyone as the award winning jazz performer showcased her vocal skills with energetic songs over deep, rhythmic basslines, to soft and sultry soulful numbers accompanied by a piano. Washington also performed her rendition of a number of covers including Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, as well as, several emotion-filled songs inspired by or written for her late husband.
