It was a historic day for the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation as they hosted the first Balhats in their territory in 73 years at Uda Dune Bayioh on Friday. The last Balhats hosted by the Lheidli T'enneh was in 1926, and the last time a Balhats was held on their traditional territory was 1946. To celebrate the unique relationship between the Lheidli T'enneh and School District 57, it was determined that an All Clans Balhats was the best way to recognize the partnership between the two groups. Principals, and Vice Principals from each school in the district were presented with a plaque and Lheidli T'enneh flag that will be displayed in each school as a sign of the partnership between SD57 and the Lheidli T'enneh.
