The Kelly Road Roadrunners Sr. Girls Invitational basketball tournament started on Friday and the host Roadrunners took on the North Peace Grizzlies from Fort St. John. Going into the half the Roadrunners held a 35-20 lead but the Grizzlies powered back and with just under a minute left in the game North Peace drained a clutch three-pointer to tie the game at 58. The teams went back and forth with neither team able to put the ball in the basket until Kelly Road player Jordan Harris was fouled and sank both free throw attempts with 22 seconds left in the game to put the Roadrunners in the lead. With 9 seconds left on the clock, Carley Gurney took a foul and sank both the free throws giving Kelly Road a four-point lead. The Grizzlies were unable to score on their next possession and the final buzzer sounded on a 62-58 win for Kelly Road.
