Four Connections Celebration: Winter Solstice 2020 - IN PHOTOS
The UNBC Office of Indigenous Initiatives hosted Four Connections Celebration: Winter Solstice 2020 on Thursday afternoon at the Gathering Place. The virtual event was the first of four the office is planning with the other three representing the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Thursday's celebration featured words from Geoff Payne, UNBC's Interim President and Vice Chancellor, Henry Harder, Vice Provost of Indigenous Initiatives, and Bev Best, Aboriginal Student Engagement Manager. Lheidli T'enneh Elder Darlene McIntosh said an opening prayer and performed a smudging demonstration. Elder in Residence Marcel Gagnon, and Lheidli T'enneh Elder Kym Gouchie performed and shared stories with the virtual audience.
