The Prince George Spruce Kings opened up their 2019-20 regular season on Friday night at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena taking on their Mainland Division rivals the Surrey Eagles in the first game of a weekend doubleheader between the two teams. Unfortablety, the Spruce Kings were on the losing end as the Surrey Eagles walked away with the win outscoring the Kings 4-2. Finlay Williams potted two power play goals for the Kings with Nick Poisson and Corey Cunningham assisting on both goals. Prior to the game the Spruce Kings held a ceremony where their Mainland Divison, Coastal Conference, Fred Page Cup, and Doyle Cup banners were hung from the rafters.
