The College Heights Cougars took on the North Peace Grizzlies on Friday evening at the Duchess Park gymnasium in the championship game of the North Central Zone Junior Girls Basketball Championship. The Cougars got off to an early start and didn't look back winning the game and claiming the title of Zone Champions by a score of 68-41.
Earlier in the afternoon the Nechako Valley Viqueens needed triple-overtime to the defeat the PGSS Polars by a score of 65-60 to move on to the next round where they will take on the Duchess Park Condors A team on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. The loser of that game will finish fourth and the winner will move on to play the North Peace Grizzlies in a battle for second and third place scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m.
