The CIBC Run for the Cure took place on Sunday morning at Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park with nearly 250 runners and walkers participating in the Canadian Cancer Society breast cancer fundraiser. Runners did a five-kilometre loop around the park while walkers did a one-kilometre loop, both started and finished near the Pavilion. The CIBC sponsored event is meant to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research to help find a cure. Over 85,000 walkers and runners will participate in CIBC Run for the Cure events all across Canada in the largest single-day breast cancer fundraiser.
