The Cariboo Cougars and Vancouver North East Chiefs hit the ice in Kin 1 on Saturday evening and again on Sunday morning. Saturday evening saw the Vancouver North East Chiefs take the first game of the weekend by a 7-3 score with Dante Berrettoni leading the way with a hat-trick. Daniel Juca scored twice, with Thomas Vela and Tanner Terness rounding out the scoring for the Chiefs. Kellan Brienen, Carter Yarish, and Hunter Brown were the goal scorers for the Cats. The rematch took place on Sunday morning and the Cougars were on the winning end of a 4-1 score thanks to Carter Yarish who potted three goals in a winning effort. Fischer O'Brien also scored for the Cougars, and Jeremy Hanzel was the lone goal scorer for the Chiefs. Saturday evening also marked the Cariboo Cougars annual Pink in the Rink game with the team donning special pink jerseys in support of, and to raise awareness for breast cancer. It was also a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society.
