Fresh off a disappointing 4-3 OT loss to the Thompson Blazers on Saturday, the Cariboo Cougars looked to put that behind them and come out of the gate strong to dictate the flow of the second game of their weekend doubleheader and that's exactly what they did. By the end of the first period the Cougars held a 3-0 lead thanks to a pair of goals from Alexander Ochiwata who scored a shorthanded marker at 11:01 and a powerplay goal at 1:21. Carter Yarish rounded out the scoring for the period with his goal coming at 10:01. The second period saw the Cougars strike first with Ethan Floris putting one in the net at 9:04 but the Blazers answered back a few minutes later with Lucas Piekarczyk tallying a goal at 5:42. The third period was all Cougars with Aiden Reeves scoring a powerplay goal at 18:25 and Landon Ingham potting the Cougars 6th goal of the game at 10:35. No further goals were scored by either team and the final buzzer sounded on a 6-1 score in favour of the Cougars.
