Dancers from 14 different studios located from Edmonton to Prince Rupert and from Fort St. John to Victoria will compete at the Prince George dance festival running until Friday at Vanier Hall.

The festival, being held during the School District 57 spring break, boasts about 1,000 entries in 18 different dance categories including highland, ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap and many others.

There is more than $16,000 in festival awards, prizes and scholarships available to dancers aged five to 18.

There will be a Showcase Performance on the last day of the festival on Friday evening. All tickets for the week of festival and for the gala performance can be purchased at the doors of Vanier Hall during the hours of the festival.

Some of the top dancers from the Prince George Dance Festival will go on to compete at the Performing Arts BC Provincials in Duncan during May. For more information visit the website at www.pgdancefestival.com.
