The Canadian Press account of the French language debate ("French Language Debate Shows Gallic Flair," April 14) included what seems to be a complimentary interpretation of Stephen Harper's interjection on the very serious matter of Quebec sovereignt

This has been a sad situation in our city and many comments have been made with very little being known. The one thing that I felt I needed to comment on was that now the aboriginal community is up in arms, and possible rightly so.

In following the daily investigation by the Vancouver City Police on the tasering of an 11-year-old boy and some of the comments being made, I think it's important to recognize the incident prior to this boy being Tasered.

The Prince George school board needs to wake up. In March, I was reading the press from Vanderhoof and they stated that the Vanderhoof School District is planning on opening a new school.

The newspaper has been full of stories about how wrong it was of the RCMP to taser an 11-year-old aboriginal boy. What about the 37-year-old group home worker that the boy allegedly stabbed? My sympathy goes out to him and to his family.

"Government is a broker in pillage, and every election is a sort of advance auction in stolen goods." H.L. Mencken I wonder what would have happened in the following events if we were really a democracy and the people were consulted.

Prince George's reputation has been subjected to a few blows lately as national studies come out placing the city near the bottom of the heap when it comes to crime.

Regarding the Northern Gateway Pipeline: Dick Harris and the Conservative party are making false -- and in Harris's case insulting -- claims.

Apparently young people don't want to vote. Well if there ever was a time for them to start paying attention it's now. It's a fact that Canada takes in less in tax than it spends and makes up the difference by borrowing.
