In the last episode, Caribou Joe and Bert Conway are ambushed and hit by gunfire while taking a break from distilling whiskey. Earlier that same day Caribou Joe had saddled up at the Ram Pasture near Tte Jaune Cache.

As I See It

When you think of Buddhism, what images or events come to mind? Meditation, the Buddha, monks chanting in a temple, prayer flags on the sides of Himalayan mountains? None of these images is inherently incorrect, but each one is incomplete.

Hiking up Mt. Robson with four young children is stunningly beautiful and memorable experience. Realizing that your 12-year-old daughter has the flight of feet that you once had, and no longer have, is a bummer.

RE: Wendy Young's column, Artists are generous with the beauty they have to offer. I was thrilled to read Wendy Young's article in the Friday, Aug. 12 edition. It is a long overdue acknowledgment.

This summer someone asked if I might provide an interview on the subject of assisted suicide. For some reason, the interview didn't happen but the prospect gave me new cause to consider the matter.

In the last episode, Christmas is approaching and soon it would be time for Caribou Joe's next whiskey run.

When's the goat trail on the way to all those new subdivisions we call Domano going to get its repave completed? Next election? There's no drinking and driving on that road, the swerving is everyone trying to miss all the tank traps eight inches deep

Hats off to the organizers, volunteers, venders of the Summerfest. I was in attendance for the entire day. Someone clearly did some praying to hold off the rain for three quarters of the day.

Re: BC Hydro ratepayers have the right to cry foul, August 17, 2011. A recent column about the Site C project requires clarification. Site C is being planned to meet B.C.
