Much has been said recently about processed food, implying they are somehow bad for people. But humans have been processing food for hundreds of thousands if not millions of years.

Last week, my mother-in-law turned 95. I won't dish out the standard MIL joke here because she turned out to be about the sweetest mom-in-law in the world.

I have to agree with Ray Masson in his letter of July 11 that his cartoon (Citizen, July 4) was not a denigration of Christ. Nonetheless I do find the cartoon reprehensible because it falsely and completely misrepresents American immigration policy.

It has been about a year since we were evacuated to Prince George. I just wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone that helped us evacuees feel very comfortable. The outstanding services and hospitality that was shown and provided was amazing.

Canada, as always, is beset with seemingly intractable problems. Among them: Donald Trump accuses us of failing to meet a rash commitment to dedicate two per cent of our gross national product to defence.

Last year at this time, with smoke in the air and Cariboo evacuees streaming into Prince George, local residents stepped up. According to Volunteer Prince George, more than 380 volunteers signed up to lend a hand on the very first day.

I thought that living in Vancouver was a laughing experience but now that I'm living in P.G., I have a laugh a day at least. I think most of the people here got their driver training from the same person. I see some of the strangest things.

Re: School must clean up. I agree 100 per cent! All schools should take the kids out for an hour to clean around the schools.

I would like to thank Gerald Klassen for his "Abhorrent and repulsive" letter published in the Saturday paper. It reminds us that fundamentalism is not confined to the American Bible Belt or Islamic State.
