I wish to personally thank the students who came up with the brilliant idea of free bus rides for the duration of the Winter Games; and for all the business and "just plain folk" who backed the idea financially. It worked so well!!
During one of my trips to town, a young mum and her three year old daughter got on the bus.
As they trotted down the aisle this adorable child, golden curls peeking out from under her hat, cheeks rosy red from the cold air and the excitement of (her mum informed me.) "Her very first bus ride'", could not control her enthusiasm. "OH, Mum! this is so much fun!".
As she settled onto the window seat on the second level, again she breathed, "This is so much fun!". As the bus started to move, her happy little self launched into, "The wheels on the bus go round and round..." until she'd sung the whole song through.... "Oh, mum! This is fun!"
Every so often she just had to express her absolute delight with this wonderful adventure by telling herself and all her fellow passengers what a really fun thing it was to ride the bus!
