I've got a friend whose world was turned upside down by a lung cancer diagnosis. He's rather a nice guy. Sweet, kind and really lovely. You might know him. His name is David Mah. He is a popular photographer for the Prince George Citizen.
Dave and I met in the 1990s when he stopped me on the street and asked me if I could be the Smile of the Week for PG This Week, a weekly newspaper that was the sister paper to the Citizen.
We met again when he would take my photo because I used to be an arm wrestler that enjoyed some success. Once I started to work at PG This Week years later we became fast friends and have been since 2000.
That's a bit of history for any friendship and throughout the years we've shared the triumphs and tribulations that go with life.
