We have just opened up the the country to this great city "Prince George" by hosting the Canada Winter Games!. It was a resounding success and we are now known "beyond" Hope.
Why would we now even think about changing the name? I don't care who it was named after, it has been my home for 80-plus years and a change of name would just be giving up 100 years of history on that name. My family came here in 1922. We have history here and many others have an even much longer history. I am proud to have lived here all my life. I wouldn't dream of moving away.
As the city grows there will be many new venues, streets and subdivisions to name. Please, no new name for our city!
