June 24, 1953 - January 14, 2009

Harris, William (Bill) Dallas George June 24, 1953 - Jan 14, 2009 Bill passed away suddenly while participating in one of his favourite activities, a game of hockey. He is survived by his loving wife Ellen who worked tirelessly by his side, his beloved twin daughters Angela and Lisa , both the pride of his life, his mother Erna Harris, his sisters Nancy and Sandy, niece and nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Bill's earliest and sustained interest was "importing oriental sundry" as so described in his childhood reading, Popular Mechanics magazines of the 60's era. Bill and Ellen stocked the nooks and crannies of their Chinatown Trading Company with artistry, integrating displays of Chinese folk art and antiques and images reflecting the real history of the building it has occupied off of Victoria's Fan Tan Alley for the past three decades. In the Alley, Bill also created the Dragon Song Music store and nearby operated the former Fisgard House of Treasures and Eastern Interiors. Bill loved hockey; he watched and he played. He loved the thrill of the game and the singing of the anthems . We will miss him dearly When a loved one becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. A memorial service was held at Sands Funeral Chapel, Victoria B.C. Tuesday January 20, 2009 at 1:30 pm.
