With the help of a helicopter, Prince George RCMP apprehended a wanted man this afternoon.
A day after asking for the public's help to track him down, police located Dustin Cecil Murray, 29, at a 2400-block Upland Street apartment at about 1:30 p.m.
Murray retreated to the building's roof, prompting police to call in an RCMP chopper.
"The rotary aircraft was above the building within minutes, forcing the wanted man back into the building and into the custody of waiting officers," RCMP said.
Murray was arrested on charges related to an alleged Sept. 1, 2016 assault of a woman on Upland Street.
Police had suspected he had been living near the 2400 block of Upland and had been getting help to evade capture. No further arrests were made.
"The Prince George RCMP would like to thank those persons that assisted with this investigation. Without the help from the public, investigations such as this one would not be nearly as successful."
