BC Wildfire planes brought in to fight fire southwest of Quesnel

Smoke can be seen from Highway 97 as planes collect water from Tzenzaicut Lake

The BC Wildfire Service was fighting a fire south of Tzenzaicut Lake on Friday, Aug. 1.

The lake, located southwest of Quesnel near Alexandria, was being used by the fire service's pontoon planes, which collect water and dump it onto active fires.

The fire, designated C11175, is considered to be out of control.

It covers five hectares.
