The Prince George RCMP have arrested a man wanted for failing to appear in court on property crime charges.
Phillip Thompson Cooper, 51, was apprehended Wednesday evening when Mounties spotted him near the corner of Victoria Street and 17th Avenue. Cooper attempted to flee as police closed in on him but he was captured a short distance away.
A warrant for Cooper's arrest was issued after he failed to appear in court on June 2 in relation to charges of theft $5,000 or under and possession of stolen property from an alleged May 19 incident.
RCMP issued a bulletin on Monday asking for the public's help in tracking him down.
Cooper was held in custody overnight and is to appear in Provincial Court later today. Additional charges are likely, RCMP said.
