RCMP recently carried out a pair of drug busts in the VLA - one in which tear gas was deployed to clear out a house.

The first occurred on the evening of Tues., March 23, when Prince George RCMP's street crew unit executed a search warrant on a 2100-block Spruce Street home.

They uncovered quantities of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine along with a 12-guage shotgun, a .300 Winchester Magnum rifle and an SKS rifle, as well as some ammunition.

They followed up on Fri., March 26 at 11 p.m., when they executed a warrant on "known drug house" in the 2200 block of Quince Street home.

Called in as backup, the North District RCMP emergency response team deployed the tear gas.

Five people subsequently came out of the home, RCMP said, and two were taken into custody for processing.

Charges remain pending and names of those arrested were not released.
