Rooftop arrestee sentenced to 39 days

The subject of a rooftop arrest earlier this month was sentenced Friday to a further 39 days in jail.

Jake Patrick Toby, 26, was issued the term in Prince George provincial court for one count of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.

As of Friday, Toby had been in custody for 13 days following his arrest May 8 when RCMP were called to a report of man trying to break into a downtown business via the top of a 1400-block Third Avenue building.

When Toby refused to come down, RCMP climbed up and he was apprehended.

Toby has a record for petty crimes.
