Robber sentenced to six months

A man was sentenced Friday in provincial court to a further six months in jail for holding up a Spruceland-area business. Kyle Thomas Bowden, 36, was also sentenced to 18 months probation and ordered to provide a DNA sample for the Feb.

A man was sentenced Friday in provincial court to a further six months in jail for holding up a Spruceland-area business.

Kyle Thomas Bowden, 36, was also sentenced to 18 months probation and ordered to provide a DNA sample for the Feb. 21 incident in which a masked man allegedly entered a store near Ahbau Street and 8th Avenue brandishing a knife.

Howden was apprehended within the hour in the 2600 block of Upland Street and has remained in custody since then - a total of 281 days.

The probation term also applies to a count of willfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer and breaching probation from the same incident and to counts of breaching probation and uttering threats from a February 9 incident.
