A launch of a ride-hailing service in Prince George has been delayed until the end of the month.
Ryan Staley, owner of Coastal Rides, had intended to so a soft l aunch this week but ran into delays related to making sure the drivers had their ducks in a row.
"Things like installing barriers between the front and the back seats, and they need to get commercial vehicle inspections and they need to get police record checks and those things all take time," Staley said and noted the drivers, and not just Coast Rides, must get business licences from the city.
He hopes get at least three drivers on the road in short order and increase that number up to 10 in due course.
He has been operating the service on the Sunshine Coast since February.
