A man has been arrested and charged with passing counterfeit currency.

Bruce Albert Patrick, 38, faces seven counts in relation to alleged incidents on December 27, December 28 and February 14 in Prince George, according to court records.

The development stems from an investigation that saw RCMP execute a search warrant on March 21 on a Monahan Crescent home. Two women were arrested but later released without charges.

Patrick, who was arrested on Wednesday, has a criminal record consisting of petty offences committed in Terrace and on Vancouver Island. He also faces a charge of possessing counterfeit currency from an Oct. 27, 2017 arrest in Parksville.

It's the second time in two weeks that someone has been arrested and charged with trying to pass counterfeit money. Cole Patrick McIntyre-Hartwick, 20, remains in custody on six counterfeit-related charges while an 18-year-old female faces two counts and has been released on documents.
