Contracted crews working for the City of Prince George will be starting the largest paving operation of the year next week.

The work will take place on Foothills Boulevard starting at Highland Drive and extend down Foothills about 1.6 kilometres to the south. In total, nearly five lane kilometres of road will be rehabilitated.

The City expects this section of road will be blocked to traffic during the operation. The work will begin on Tuesday and will be completed by the end of the week, depending upon the weather.

Last week, the City installed signs on both sides of the work site alerting drivers to the upcoming traffic disruption.

Motorists are advised to look for alternate routes whenever possible and to drive with caution around road crews.

Crews are also continuing to rehabilitate a section of sidewalk on Eton Avenue in College Heights from Cambridge Road to Simon Fraser Avenue. The project is expected to wrap up later this month.
