A Prince George man suspected of attempting to lure a child for sexual purposes is in custody and RCMP are working to determine if there were any more alleged victims.

The BC Prosecution Service has charged with Kevin James Belcourt, 35, with two counts each of child luring and making sexually explicit material to a child and one count each of sexual interference, distributing child pornography, breaching a prohibition order and breaching probation.

The charges are related to a single youth, RCMP said, but suspect there may be more victims.

"Police believe that Belcourt communicated with the victim via the Snapchat social media app which facilitated several in-person meetings," RCMP said. "Belcourt's Snapchat vanity names included Emily Mojo, James Biggs and Eddy100."

Anyone who had contact with those accounts or with Belcourt between July 1 and Nov. 30, when he was arrested, is asked to call the Prince George RCMP's sex crimes unit at 250-561-3300.

"The Prince George RCMP are urging parents of young girls with social media accounts to monitor their accounts and speak to them about this investigation," police added.

Police took a similar step in June 2015 after he was arrested on a series of sexual offences against two girls in Dawson Creek.

On July 30, he was sentenced to two years probation on all counts after receiving credit for an extensive period of pretrial incarceration.
