A community information session on a proposal to build two affordable housing projects on First Avenue will be held this evening at the Civic Centre, 5 p.m. start.

Subject to rezoning, an environmental and geotechnical review, and project approval, the projects are planned for 805 First Ave., the current home of NR Motors.

BC Housing is to lead the construction over two phases of a building containing 50 units of supportive housing and one holding 50 units of rental homes for low-income people. Rents will work out to 30 per cent of the tenant's gross household income.

Each building would include ground-floor healthcare space that would deliver services for both residents and the public.

The city will purchase the land for a price to be made public once the transaction is completed.

More information on the project is available online at https://letstalkhousingbc.ca/PrinceGeorge.
