A Prince George man has pleaded guilty to charges in relation to an alleged armed robbery of a supermarket.

During an appearance in provincial court Wednesday, Rodney Alexander Courtoreille , 27, pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. That's a lesser charge than the count of robbery he had been facing.

Courtoreille, who continues to face counts of assault with a weapon and uttering threats from a separate incident, also pleaded guilty to one count of theft $5,000 or under to and two counts of breach of an undertaking or recognizance.

One of the breaches was for being in the company of Cathy Stephanie Wilson, 26, who remains at large and faces a count of theft $5,000 or under and the other came after police found a knife in his home.

Courtoreille was arrested April 21, two days after the Parkwood Save On was robbed. At the time, it was alleged he pulled a knife on an employee who confronted him after he tried to steal a basket of meat. He dropped the basket and fled on foot with a woman who was waiting for him, according to police.

Courtoreille will be sentenced once pre-sentence reports have been completed.
