A man known to the police and courts faces a dozen firearms-related charges after Prince George RCMP executed a search warrant on a Spruceland-area home Sunday morning with the help of an emergency response team.

Harjinder John Singh Berar, 51, remained in custody as of Monday morning.

He's been charged with 10 counts of possession of a firearm contrary to an order and two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm.

The operation was carried out at an 1100-block Chilako Avenue home, just off Ahbau Street - the same home that was the site of a previous series of drug-related takedowns that led police to call the home a "problem drug house."

In February 2016, he was sentenced to a further 15 months in jail after he was twice caught dealing cocaine and methamphetamine from the home over a 3 1/2 month span.
