Fire ravaged a mobile home in Prince George Friday evening, causing extensive damage but no injuries.

Prince George Fire Rescue firefighters from three halls responded to the blaze at the Lombardy Mobile Home Park at 2188 Norwood St. at about 6 p.m. Friday and arived to see flames and thick black smoke billowing out of the structure.

Two people inside the trailer at the time of the fire escaped to safety.

“Crews arrived on scene and the trailer, a mobile home, was fully engulfed with fire, so they fought it from the outside and knocked it down,” said PGFR deputy chief Cliff Warner.

“There was some concern at the beginning that there may be people inside but once our crews got on scene they were able to determine from bystanders that there was nobody inside. I don’t know if they were able to get inside to determine an exact cause. I would suspect it’s a total loss. Our guys, once they knew nobody was inside, didn’t put themselves at risk, they just fought it from outside.”

Damage is estimated at $150,000.
