EDMONTON - Alberta Premier Alison Redford is resigning. Redford has been struggling to deal with unrest in her Progressive Conservative caucus over her leadership style and questionable expenses. She says her resignation will be effective Sunday.

OTTAWA - Finance Minister Jim Flaherty says he is leaving the federal cabinet and returning to the private sector. Flaherty delivered the bombshell news in a statement this afternoon.

REGINA - The premiers of Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia have agreed to make it easier for people moving between the provinces to license their cars or continue apprenticeships.

REGINA - The Saskatchewan legislature has passed a motion supporting construction of the Northern Gateway pipeline, but the vote was not unanimous. Premier Brad Wall says the pipeline would help get oil to port in a safer way than by rail or truck.
