Cats lose 5-2, Silvertips split weekend doubleheader to end losing streak

The University of Calgary Dinos used a strong defense to defeat the UNBC Timberwolves 75-57 on Saturday in Calgary. Tyrell Laing led the Timberwolves with 18 points, ending his streak of seven consecutive games with 20 points or more.

It took a Cadillac effort from the Prince George Cougars to beat the high and mighty Everett Silvertips twice in eight days.

Three straight wins has a nice ring to it for the Prince George Spruce Kings – a perfect way to ring in the new year. The Spruce Kings seem to have the Langley Rivermen’s number.

For the second time in eight days, the Prince George Cougars got the better of the Everett Silvertips. Different building, same 4-3 score, and Friday’s result was something the Cougars could bank on as they continue their push for the WHL playoffs.
