Youth athletes recognized

A dozen of Prince George's top youth athletes will receive recognition for their accomplishments by the Prince George Sports Hall of Fame at the awards banquet on March 31.

A dozen of Prince George's top youth athletes will receive recognition for their accomplishments by the Prince George Sports Hall of Fame at the awards banquet on March 31.

The banquet will take place at the Hart Community Centre with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 7 and the ceremony beginning at 8. Tickets are available for for $40 at the Northern Capital Sports Society in the lobby of the Prince George Golf and Curling Club on Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or at Northern Food Equipment (495 2nd Avenue) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition to the awards ceremony there will be a silent auction.

The athletes honoured will be:

Ashley Anderson, diving

Emma Balazs, track & field - cross country running

Sarah Beaudry, biathlon

Brett Bulmer, hockey

Colin Carson, volleyball

Brian Clyne, taekwondo

Brandon Deschamps, football

Sarah Gomes, soccer

Danica Ludlow, swimming

Erika Morris, volleyball

Jesse Pettis, motocross

Jeff Strong, five-pin bowling
